Indication
Moderate or severe pure mitral stenosis with obvious symptoms and heart failure of II – III Class (NYHA)On the echocardiogram, the valves are elastic and show no obvious deformity, severe calcification, abnormalities of subvalvular structures, or left atrial thrombus, covering an area no larger than 1.5 square centimetre.
Sinus rhythm shown on the electrocardiogram
Mean Left Atrial Pressure (LAMP) >1.46Kpa (11mmHg), and Diastolic Mitral Valve Pressure Gradient > 1.06Kpa (8mmHg)
Cases where the patient has post-commissurotomy mitral stenosis, atrial fibrillation, mitral calcification, with mild mitral or aortic valve insufficiency
Cases where surgical risks are high because of mitral stenosis with severe pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), RHF or LHF, or obvious hepatorenal symptoms.
Cases unsuitable for valve replacement due to long-term anticoagulant therapy or other reasons such as pregnancy
